About Me

Moving to Rockland, Maine from a nearby country town at the age of twelve, I quickly caught the wild and adventurous spirit of the seafaring men on the coast.  The waterfront, with its several fish processing factories, became my ideal playground.

The smells were strong and smoky,  the sounds were loud and raw, the water was always ice cold and the men crewing the offshore fishing boats were wild and independent.  It was the life for me.

Since that time, I have made my living from the waters of the North Atlantic starting by fishing commercially to then helping establish a seafood processing factory.

Now my passion has changed to capturing, in sculpture, the nature of the world that I understand. Perhaps, in some small way, I can explain it to those seeking to understand why these men of the sea choose to work and live in the hostile environment of the North Atlantic.
